Welcome to Arthrex!
Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better® Since 1981
Even before there was a market for minimally invasive surgical techniques and medical instruments, Reinhold Schmieding founded Arthrex in Munich in 1981 with the mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better.
Although the prototypes of the first surgical arthroscopy instruments were already creating excitement, they could not be produced in the desired quality in Germany at the time. As a result, production was relocated to the USA and the company was founded there a second time–a step that yielded success.
Today–more than 40 years later–the Arthrex mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better not only drives our President and Founder, but more than 6000 employees worldwide every day, to innovate, engage, and work as a team.
"
As a privately held company, Arthrex is uniquely positioned to evaluate new technologies and ideas, which gives us the freedom to develop products and techniques that truly make a difference.
I encourage you to engage with our team of experts and be a part of our journey."
